LeasePlan is one of the world’s leading fleet management and driver mobility companies, with over 1.8 million (oops Scott said 18 million) vehicles under management in more than 30 countries. Their U.S. headquarters is in Alpharetta, Georgia, and has been a vLink client for years. We’ve done live streams, hybrid virtual events, culture videos, internal communications, and some pretty cool showcase videos for them.
Not too long ago, LeasePlan reached out to us with a desire to produce a high-quality, long shelf-life video. They wanted to market their corporate fleet services to the world, but needed something to set them apart from the competition.
The competition was producing mostly talking head videos with little storytelling or interest. While these types of videos can be effective, we encouraged them to go a different direction for this project. As a top-of-the-funnel, high-level overview video of the operation, we suggested something with a lot of motion and visual storytelling to attract and engage viewers. Most importantly, we leveraged the third-person voice in the script narration.
So we:
- Collaborated on a compelling script.
- Hired a professional actor to serve as the spokesperson.
- Filmed in multiple locations to add interest.
- Featured motion graphics to reinforce messaging.
- Added thematic transitions between types of visuals and continuous shots with plenty of interesting things occurring in frame.
As they say, location, location, location. Identifying the right locations to film was a challenge, but our team found just the right spots to film. We ended up filming at three locations over multiple days. We were fortunate that LeasePlan had their own fleet of light duty vehicles that we could use in the video.
After two and a half days of shooting, and a few days of editing with some iterations, the final video emerged. We were happy with it, LeasePlan was happy with it, and we’re both excited to work on another large project together.
We present to you, LeasePlan Corporate Fleet video.
